Purpose: CLIME is again offering the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Medical Education Research Certificate (MERC). To receive the certificate participants must complete 6 half day sessions.

The session is hands-on and will require active participation.

Session: Hypothesis Driven Research

Following Completion of this workshop, attendees will be able to discuss:

1. How to translate a research questions into a hypothesis, and how to develop the null hypothesis.
2. The steps in hypothesis testing
3. Type 1 and Type 2 errors
4. Power, sample size, confidence interval, and statistical significance
